One more day.....

Just a wee post to remind you that there is one day left to leave a comment on The Great Print Giveaway to be in with a chance of winning a print from Peonies and Polaroids: The Shop.

And to let you know that I have added a new print today....

Meet Persephone....

I love her knobbles, they're so pretty. It turns out that pomegranates are much nicer to look at than to eat. Food shouldn't be hard work and getting those pretty, sparkly little whatsits out of that gorgeous pink elephant hide makes me want to take a nap.

I was going to add a whole lot more prints today but my darling Boy tried to update my photo editing stuff today and well, he broke it.

I should know by now that when he says 'can we swap puters and I'll update your software?' half an hour later I'll hear a rather pathetic 'Oops. I made it worse... Um... no you can't use it, I killed it.'

It's a good job he's cute. Very cute.

  1. Oh I love pomegranates... and think they are so worth the effort to eat. Though I do tend to set them out as decoration for several days before breaking them apart.

  2. I love pomegranates so much when I dig into them I come out looking like I have some horrible skin condition thanks to the juice spray all over my face and body.

Makes my husband giggle uncontrolably at least.

  3. We actually have a tree, and we make jelly, so we've done some serious research on pomegranate eating.

First slice into the top of the pomegranate, so that it just starts to split. Then immerse the whole thing in a big bowl of water and split it open the rest of the way underwater (a good pomegranate should split pretty easily). Working underwater, gently pry the seeds out. Seeds should fall to the bottom and most of the rind should rise to the top. Scoop the rind of the top, drain out the water and you have a perfect bowl of seeds without really staining your hands!

Probably WAY more information than anyone needed. : )

  4. Rachel- not too much! I was about to say the same thing (minus the having a tree part).

Pomegranate is so good on salad or on top of any middle eastern food. Yum!

  5. Mmm. He is cute.
    (I totally didn't say that!)

  6. Stunning photo!

My Nan had a pomegranate tree and as a child I used to think they were the most beautiful things. Like you I can't be buggered trying to eat them though.

play nice.
