The lurge

I'm sick. After extensive research I've narrowed it down to either flu, swine or otherwise, or lyme disease*. Of course there's absolutely no reason that I can't have both. I probably have both. And maybe ebola too.

Sleep ought to help. On a squashy sofa

with a glass of lemony, vitamin C filled water

some potions in jars

a warm blanket

and fantasies of living in a house with hot running water.

* when we were camping earlier this month I got bitten by a tick. The little bugger nestled himself in no more than two inches from my lady bits. It was quite the traumatic experince. Not least for the boy who was happily eating breakfast when a Carrie-esque scream issued from the bathroom. I've been having panic attacks about intravenous antibiotics and spinal taps ever since.

Poor thing! I was feeling ill on saturday and started eating a spoonful of Manuka honey 4x a day, and it seems to be keeping it at bay! Enjoy the warm blanket!

how do you manage still to post such beautiful lovely posts when suffering *possibly* from any/all of the above? I just don't know how you do it.

Oh no! I hope you feel better soon, and I definitely hope it's not tick-related!

I think if I had a sofa like that I wouldn't mind being ill - although maybe snotty tissues would ruin the effect!
Hope you feel better soon.

Do make sure that everything you have to look at is either beige or white. It is sure to help:).

Fluids! Lots of. Honey and lemon infusion, paracetemol, and milk it for maximum sympathy. Well that's what I do! Nice interiors, I have been hankering after a quilt like that for quite some time now...

Poor Peonies! Summer colds are wretched. What you need is a nice hot toddy in a tick-free environment. (I once got one on my bottom and I am still recovering from the horror of it all, seven years later). xoxoxox

Oh feel better. Real flu is really quite horrid.

Also unless you have a bullseye rash in your intimate feminine area you will be fine I'm sure. If not then please let me prescribe you some lovely drugs!

Oh my goodness! Being bitten by a tick is high on my list of rational fears - I can't even begin to imagine how upset I'd be if one took up roost near my netherland! Yikes! Feel better soon!

I think ticks tend to like that particular female bodily region. Same thing happened to my best friend, she was at a festival and had to ask a stranger in the toilets to remove it for her!

OMG. I can only imagine how traumatizing that must have been! *shudder*

Get well soon, and I hope it's not lyme-disease.

oh dear. in order to put your mind at rest, Lyme Disease is only really contracted after the tick has been in place for 24 hours or more. so, if you found it before that, you're more likely suffering from the dreaded and ugly-sounding swine flu. i'm just sayin'

hope you feel better soon!

sad face. i hope you feel better soon.

i once had a tick lodge itself in my scalp, and my mother extracted it with tweezers. i now know that this was, like, the worst thing she could have done, but i still didn't end up with lyme disease. hope the same goes for you and the 'bits.

I was just reading how you believe you might have Lyme Disease. Get that checked!!!!

When I was a child (5/6ish?), I was playing w/ my siblings in the woods and I ended up getting bit by a tick. That tick ended up with me contracting Lyme Disease which led to 4 years of doctor's testing. Eventually they found out I obtained Rheumatoid Arthritis and low iron levels because of Lyme Disease.
However, everything was 'cured' once they found the cause of problem and gave me pills and shots. Now that I'm 21, I haven't had any problems at all since the diagnosed the problem.

So, don't avoid the doctor!!!

Not a fan of ticks. I'm still traumatized from the time I was eight and I had to remove one that was two inches away from MY MOM'S LADY BITS.

Let's say a little prayer of thanks for elastic.
